It’s hard to believe that the thrilling acts performed at Triton Troupers Circus are executed by amateurs. You will see exhibits of tightrope walking, clowning, gymwheel, juggling, teeterboard, trampoline, trapeze, unicycle, feats of strength and more, 7 p.m. April 6-7, and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 8, at Robert M. Collins Gymnasium, R Building, Triton College, 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove.

“Some of the things they do surprise the heck out of me,” longtime director Terry White laughingly admitted. “Audiences love us. People come back year after year.”

White noted that several of the performers are practicing a difficult stunt called Russian Bar, which will hopefully be ready for this year’s circus. In it, two people hold on their shoulders three pole vaulting poles that are tied together. A girl stands on the bar as they flex their knees.

There will be a clown preshow. Tickets are $6 cash at the door.
